Fishing, Diving & Snorkeling

There are endless ways to enjoy the outdoors in Belize! Guests can snorkel, paddle-board, kayak, and fish directly from the pier - fishing poles are supplied!

Guests can spend the day deep sea, fly or reef fishing with one of our boat captains and tour guides. PLUS you can bring your fresh catch back to the property and have it prepared by our private chef on the custom made barbecue and enjoy it at one of our custom made picnic tables!

Casa de Playa SolMate has lush gardens and a custom made iguana habitat. These Belizean iguanas are free to roam the property and island. You may even be able to feed one of these beauties.

If you’re interested in completing your dive certification, you can complete it at Casa de Playa SolMate with one of our PADI certified dive masters. There are 30+ dive sites including the Belize Barrier Reef, tunnels and swim throughs, and The Blue Hole.

If you’re an experienced diver you won’t want to miss the chance to cave dive!

MAINLAND TOURS

Xunantunich. In the Cayo district guests can tour the Mayan Ruins of Xunantunich - located on the banks of the Mopan River. From the top of the pyramid you can see all the way across the Mopan River valley into Guatemala. 

Altun Ha, take a private guided tour that will educate you on the history of the Maya culture. 

Lamanai Jungle River Tour, one of the more famous Mayan Temple sites. 

The Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center, referred to as the “best little zoo in the world” this intimate zoo experience will introduce you to Belize’s local fauna, and other animals from Central America. The zoo keeps animals that were orphaned, rescued, born at the zoo, rehabilitated animals or sent to The Belize Zoo as donations from other zoological institutions.

Jungle Caves and Adventures, float down river in tubes or through ancient caves. Guests can also zip-line through the jungle canopy.

Waterfall Cave Exploration, the Belize rainforest is home to many exciting activities! Underground Mayan caves, hidden waterfalls, and plunge falls are just a few highlights of this exploration! Trips, tours & excursions

Visiting Ambergris Caye means you are searching for a tropical experience unlike any other.

Let Tropic Air fly you to the must see destinations in Belize! Caye Caulker is a small island off the coast of Belize where the motto is to “ Go Slow” the main mode of transportation is golf cart or bicycle. One of our boat captains can take you on a private cruise from Ambergris Caye to Caye Caulker. The views along the way are part of the experience.

Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley are a must when visiting Ambergris Caye. It is located on the southern tip of the island and is a beautiful area for snorkeling or diving. Over 160 species of fish have been identified in the reserve, along with nearly 40 species of corals, five sponges, eight algae, two seagrasses, three marine mammals and three species of sea turtles. 

Mexico Rocks is an aquatic wonder located on Northern Ambergris Caye. It is a superb snorkeling spot in the newest marine park of Ambergris Caye. This is a perfect spot to discover the underwater world of Belize from its shallow depths as it is situated halfway between the island and the coral reef. 

Bacalar Chico National Park and Marine Reserve is located in the northern most part of Ambergris Caye and is composed of a 15,000 acre marine reserve and a 12,000 acre terrestrial reserve. It is made up of pristine Belize Barrier Reef and Rocky and Robles Points. Bacalar Chico is the perfect location for ancient Maya discoveries as it was once a trading zone for the Maya. 

Iguana Eco Sanctuary is a great way to see HUGE iguanas right in the heart of San Pedro. It is located on the lagoon side of the island and has been fostering and protecting these endangered reptiles. No trip to the island is complete without a trip to meet Calvin Young and his spectacular creatures. 

Turneffe Atoll is the largest atoll in Belize since 2012 - it’s been declared a protected area and is one of the largest marine reserves in Belize. There are many attractions on the atoll such as bird watching, wall dives, and more.

Blackadore Caye is a restorative island behind the worlds second largest barrier reef. Initially acquired by Leonardo DiCaprio with the vision to create the future home of the greenest luxury development. Blackadore Caye aims to be the World’s first truly restorative island development completely powered by renewable energy and designed to increase the biological health of species on the island and in the waters around it.

During your stay on the island you should consider a sailing excursion! This is a beautiful and exciting way to take in the island and sunsets.
